Welcome back to our series on key battles of World War One.

We are still setting the stage because there is a lot of stage to set.

First of all, what we're going to do is take a closer look at these great powers that

we described in the previous episode.

We described them one by one, but they can't really be understood on their own.

They have to be understood in terms of symbiosis.

Just like you can't understand a crocodile and a hummingbird separately or whatever bird

it is that picks the food out of its teeth.

You have to understand it together.

I think that's a good analogy for World War One, right, James?

It's great.

What we talked about before was one of the most significant events in the 19th century

in Europe was the unification of Germany.

The Deutschland Uberall else.

That is the anthem.
