defensive tackle for the New York Giants. Jay, how are you? I'm good. How you doing? Pretty good. All right. We're less than 24 hours off of the game against Dallas. First of all, how are you feeling? How is the defense feeling? You guys tired? I know you played a lot of snaps yesterday. You're feeling fine.

0:38.8

You know what I'm saying?

0:43.9

You know, I wish the outcome was better, but, you know, we just got rid of from our mistakes and, you know, keep going.

0:45.5

Obviously.

0:49.9

Not the way you want to start the season, but there was a lot of good from it.

0:53.5

Talk a little bit about the defense and some of the bright spots that you saw yesterday against one of the more talented offensive lines in the loop. You know, I think we, you know, of course we would like to hold up to less points. You know, we're, you know, profit of defense that want to do that. But we only gave up three points in the second half. I think if we, you know, a couple tweaks here and there, we could have gave it less in the first half. So, you know, it's something not necessarily proud of, but, you know, we get a hat on the fact that we, you know, we held one of the better officers, you know, without scoring a whole bunch of touchdowns. But, you know, we gave up too many rushing in March to the best back in the league. And we look forward to, you know, just trying to trying to capitalize up that and do a better job. What's the general mood in the locker room? Obviously, you never want to lose week one, especially in prime time, but you have the Lions to look ahead Monday night. You guys optimistic about turning it around next week? Oh, it's definitely. You know, you've got to have a short-term memory, man. You've got to be able to digest the loss, fans,

learn from your mistakes, and get onto the next opponent.

1:49.1

The Lions have a great quarterback, and they have a good team.

1:52.4

We look forward to, you know, facing them again, like we did last year.

1:55.8

Hopefully, you know, you're better than we did last year.

1:58.5

Hopefully the outcome is the same.

Yeah, you go all right I want to take a quick step back because I like sort of these one-on-one interviews it gives the listeners and even myself sort of a chance to get to another player a little bit better from a personal standpoint so I know you grew up in Jamaica, Queens local, you grew up rooting for the Giants yeah the first two ball I ever watched was the Giants versus the Patriots. Nice. And then that kind of was my introduction to football. Okay. And then ever since then, the Giants are my favorite team. Nice. Okay. I was really hoping I wouldn't have to transition if you said you were a Jets fan. No, but, you know, weirdly enough, the Jets game was the first ever football game that attended. Okay. My late coach, Rudy, he took me to my first football man ever. Very cool. Against the right. So it was a Jets game. When we had Robert Thomas on a few weeks ago, I asked him who he sort of modeled his game after when he was growing up, and his was immediately Warren sat was there anyone that you tried to model your game after even today

Yep. And so that was my favorite player. But honestly, just like now, like, it wasn't in college, I just watch a lot of film. I watch a lot of film in all the great players. And I try to just take bits and pieces of what they do. And try to, you know, just put them inside my game. that's just take what works for me.
