Genesis chapter 46, verse 29, then Joseph prepared his chariot and went up to meet Israel,

his father in Goshen. He presented himself to him and fell on his neck and wept on his neck,

So this is one of my favorite verses in the whole book of Genesis,

and there's a pretty personal reason behind why.

You just imagine the scene.

Here is Israel slash Jacob, who years before thought his son had died has been living like his son had died.

And you have Joseph who for decades has not seen, talked to his dad whom he loved.

And so the scene is set for a powerful reunion when they see each other's

face. And the Bible says Joseph fell on his dad's neck and wept on his neck a good while.

Obviously, we don't know how long that is, but we can just imagine

this prolonged scene with all the emotions it involves as father and son are reunited.

And whenever I read this verse, I think about my dad, who years ago unexpectedly, due to a heart attack, one night went to be with the Lord.

And I can't wait for this day. I can't wait for this reunion that I know is coming.

Because my dad knew, or better put, knows Jesus as the resurrection and the life. And I know there's coming

a day when I'm going to lock eyes with my dad and I'm going to see him again. And I don't know

what all those emotions will be like in heaven, how they might be different than they were here

on earth. But I am really looking forward to that day.

And I just want to encourage you on so many different levels.

When you think about those who've gone before you, who you love, who are in Christ,
