Two chapters tonight. We're going to live on the edge. We'll be out of here by about midnight,

but we're going to get two chapters. They're actually short, short chapters and very exciting,

pardon me, because we're going to really get into some very intense circumstances tonight in the book of Esther.

A lot of things are going to take place, a lot of moving parts, for lack of a better way of saying it.

So why don't we pray first and we'll ask God's blessing on our time together in His Word, if you would, join with me.

Loving Heavenly Father, we are so thankful to you for your Word and for these chapters that we have

open before us tonight here in your Word. Lord, we're looking forward with great anticipation to that which you have for us tonight in our time together.

And Lord, we're looking to you, the author and the finisher of our faith, to as you're always

so faithful to do, minister to us and speak into our lives, in and through this amazing

account of what took place with Esther and Mordecai against all odds, everything that was against them,

everything that they faced.

And Lord, you just showed yourself faithful in such a magnificent and marvelous and even miraculous way.

So Lord, bless our time we pray.

Alright, let's jump in, verse one.

After these things, that always means a period of time has taken place

and come to pass since the previous chapter. King Ahazurus promoted Haman, the son of Hamadatha,

the Agagite, and advanced him and set his seat above all the princes who were with him. So chapter three begins by

introducing us to this man by the name of Haman who as I'm sure you know is a very

evil man and as we'll see soon he is going to be a very big problem for God's people
