Summary

Jewish peace activists have been at the forefront of many of the pro-Palestine protests that have swept Britain since the horrors began. These protests have been described as threatening to the Jewish community, as antisemitic, and there's even calls to have them banned.

I speak to Em Hilton, director of Diaspora Alliance, a co-founder of Jewish peace movement Na'amod, about the truth.

first beginning with the atrocities on the 7th of October, and now the horrendous onslaught

against Gaza by Israel, which is killed now, approaching 10,000 people, including

approaching 4,000 children, as well as a humanitarian catastrophe in the making.

be banned altogether. What's your general response to that? Well, honestly, I think it's a pretty

1:21.6

appalling response to what we are seeing as a real mobilisation of people around the UK and

1:27.2

around the world in support of Palestinian human rights, and deriding that as anti-Semitic

1:31.6

inherently, or that these are attacks on Jewish communities is not only wrong, but I think it's

1:36.8

very completely sort of missing the fact that there are also like lots and lots of Jewish people

1:41.6

who are sort of taking part in these marches, there have been lots of Jewish people for decades,

1:45.6

who've been working to support sort of Palestinian liberation, because we see that Palestinian
