I don't think the youngsters do this anymore, but I was a kid.

You could make clubs.

We'd make clubs, little club houses, make them out of boxes and pieces of junk wood and

things like that.

You make them in the backyard or wherever, and secret handshakes and secret knock to get

into the club.

It's a really fancy kid.

They got tree houses.

The dads were good at building things that make them a tree house, but you didn't just

go into somebody's tree house.

Come on.

You had to know, you had to be invited, you had to know the knock or the language or whatever.

A little club thing was kind of a way to prop yourself up, make you feel included with

your own little tribe of people, but it was also kind of mean, because in order to include

people, you had to exclude people, and I think that's probably why clubs are maybe sort

of now discouraged.

I really like the impulse in the West toward inclusivity as a principle, hey, we all share

this space.

We all share this planet.

We can do it.

We can figure out how to live at peace with each other.

I love that.
