Suffering, a spiritual teacher. In this episode, Eckhart leaves a short meditation and then answers a question about our fear of suffering.

Eckhart says suffering plays an important role in the evolution of our consciousness. Without it, we would not grow in awareness.

He says for many people, suffering is their primary spiritual teacher, and much of our pain is self-created through dysfunctional thoughts and behaviors.

Eckhart believes the pain can also be a catalyst for spiritual growth.

He explains, if we focus on the power of the present moment, our difficulties diminish, and once we awaken, we no longer need to suffer.

Whatever time it is, where you are.

It's certainly the present moment.

Let's take a moment to just become aware of ourselves.

And let's for a moment connect with our audience and become aware that each being is a point of

consciousness assuming a particular temporary form,

and you yourself are a point of consciousness,

or array of consciousness, the one consciousness,

assuming a temporary disguise as a person.

And it may be possible to, for you to get a sense of non-separation

or oneness by realizing that what you see externally as different beings at a deeper level is the one being, the one consciousness, taking on different appearances, persons, personalities,

and become aware of yourself without figuring anything out mentally through thinking,

but just being aware.

So in essence, you are that awareness.

And ultimately there's only one eye. When you say I, it can either refer to the temporary person, or when you say I, it can refer to your deeper

as conscious awareness. And there's only one eye at that level.

And that realization transforms everything.
