Spiritual awakening is a realization, not an achievement.

Eckhart cautions listeners that awakening should not be something we put on our to-do list.

He says it's not another goal that we attain.

He believes when we define enlightenment in those terms,

Become aware of the present moment,

not only the manifested form of the present moment,

but also the unmanifested essence of the present moment.

Those are the present moment.

Those are the two dimensions.

The manifested, what you can see and hear

and so on, sense perception, thoughts, emotions,

and underlying that the present moment itself which is the unmanifested essence that unmanifested that we call here the present moment

is actually timeless and is inseparable

from who you are.
