Hi, I'm Patrick Curtis, CEO and founder of Wall Street Oasis.

Today we have a great chat with Julia, a Devastow Academy alum that's currently studying at

0:07.6

Essek in France. She was able to land not one but two spring internships at Perala and Goldman in the

UK, but more importantly, based on her interest, she was able to land a middle market

0:16.1

private equity fund internship for her junior summer. Listen to how she juggled interviewing

remotely, flying between countries for different assessment summer. Listen to how she juggled interviewing remotely, flying between

1:22.8

And that is where I did all of my recruiting, actually. So I was doing all of my recruiting

1:25.9

from Singapore, which did pose some complications as well. Yeah, I can imagine. Was it, so did you ever have to,

1:32.8

like, fly in for an assessment center or Super Day somewhere? I had to fly for the springs,

1:37.8

which I mean, I'm not complaining at all. Yeah, yeah. It was just kind of, they covered it,

1:42.5

though, right? Or no. So that's the funny thing. So Perelo covered everything and Goldman didn't. So, but yeah. Okay, so let's rewind. So when you're kind of just in your, approaching your first year of uni, you're going to business school, obviously. So you're kind of like, it's on your radar, but you're kind of interested in languages too. So tell me a little bit about like the path toward thinking, you know, finance is kind of what I might want to do or banking in particular. Yeah, that's a good question. I mean, when I- Private equity, like where, how you, how you kind of eventually came to where you ended up, which was in P.E.
