Summary

Former CIA officer Mike Baker joins Dr. Phil to expose China's long-game intelligence play from IP theft to border infiltration and land grabs near U.S. military sites.

Dr. Phil talks with Mike Baker, host of The President's Daily Brief Podcast, former CIA covert ops officer, and cofounder of Portman Square Group to dissect the threats shaping America's future security. From China's long-horizon intelligence strategy and relentless intellectual property theft, to suspicious border crossings, cyber probing of U.S. infrastructure, and farmland acquisitions near military bases—this conversation connects the dots on a silent war unfolding in plain sight. Baker reveals how these moves aren't isolated incidents, but part of a systemic campaign to weaken America's resilience. Dr. Phil pushes the discussion further: What are the psychological effects of living under constant, invisible threats? Are Americans prepared mentally and structurally for disruption on this scale? I want to start out talking about China because, you know, right now with the tariffs and with

0:08.2

Taiwan and everything going on, we've seen a lot in the headlines recently about China

0:16.4

and some of the trade wars.

0:19.1

And we've heard a lot about military-aged men coming across the border

into America. I want to hear your thoughts and insights on China, because according to you and

0:30.9

others, China has admitted two cyber attacks against America already and for quite some time.

0:39.5

Is that a fair statement?

0:41.2

Yeah, that is a fair statement.

0:42.6

They let slip during a meeting overseas, which were several fairly high-ranking U.S.

officials, the notion that they were behind a number of cyber attacks and various forms

of cyber shenanigans over the years.

1:00.5

It's kind of a statement of the obvious, in a sense.

1:03.6

And I think whenever you talk about China, the Chinese regime, we're not talking about the

1:08.5

people, the population, they're great, the history,

1:11.2

the culture. There's so many fascinating and good aspects of China as a country. But we're

1:18.5

talking about the regime led by Xi Jinping and the Chinese Communist Party and their intel apparatus.

1:24.8

A couple of things that are really important to remember with them is that

1:28.0

they play the long game. They look at the world and they look at history and they look at time,

1:32.7

the movement of time differently than we do or the West does. And by that, I mean, they really do

have a long vision. We tend to get, I think, in the U.S., and if you just drill down

1:46.1

and narrow it down to our operations, our intelligence operations, we tend to have ADHD,

right? We're always chasing the next shiny tinfoil ball like a raccoon. And so our time frame
