Summary

For some reason I had never noticed the folder called "Wino Joe" in my speakers file, as it turns out I have 35 different recordings of, you guessed it, Wino Joe. I have no idea where this was recorded but I can tell you it was in 2001 and the earliest speak I have of him was from 1954 where he has 4 years sober (he didnt stay sober that time). At the time of this speak he had been sober for 31 years. Hes a bit old timey so dont let the lil-gal talk put you off... there is some solid AA in here. new people to hear this stuff. I got it all put together and you have it.

In the few minutes that I have left, we'll talk a little bit about alcoholism and not

0:54.1

alcohol wasm. It's a very present thing. I'm thrilled to be here in Casper, and I went

1:02.6

to the first two meetings here, and finally they called out and scruffy looking old guy

1:08.3

named Bob, and it was the first man that we had talked about behind this podium. I thought

1:15.2

you had nothing but women in AA up here until that time. I'm thrilled to see it. I really

am. I never failed to be awe inspired, standing in front of a group of alcoholics, and

from this film. Now, I started laughing a many years ago, and I think the society about

1:45.7

alcoholic synonymous was based upon a very desperate sense of humor, and I enjoyed laughing

1:53.3

ever since I've come to AA. Some people have said that I may take the program a little lightly,

1:58.5

but I have taken it up and filled today, and I'll tell you this for two reasons. I've been sober

for 40 days and 31 years today. That's one of the reasons that I told you. The other reason is

2:23.7

for the newcomer to assure you that alcoholic synonymous is labelled on the experimental stages

2:31.1

by far, and I would love to say to you newcomers that you're embarking upon probably the greatest

2:38.5

adventure that you'll ever have in your lifetime. Believe me, that to you, my hat is off. Now,

2:46.3

see, there's a lot of old timers around here. Most old AA members are pain and
