Now, for the newcomer, they're not applauding the fact that I've been sober all that long.

They're applauding the fact that alcoholics and amics works in the life of one individual for that long, okay?

I'm not taking any credit for that other than I've done what a lot of people do.

I showed up, and this stuff happened.

So this thing started around 1935 in June.

And it worked so well that when I got here in 81, it could work on me.

That's what the deal is.

So if you knew it alcoholics' nommas and somebody

says it's a Friday day people start clapping, hopefully that's what they clapping for.

Because I heard a speaker say from the podium that congratulating an alcoholic for the

time that he's been sober is like congratulating a cowboy with hemorrhoids for staying off

his horse.
