My name is Alas and I'm a grateful member of Alcoholics Anonymous.

I thought I'd be here maybe by myself and so I'm really glad that you guys are here.

I think that we say in passing, you know, thank you for the people who are leading the meeting.

I want to open by giving some real gratitude.

There were people when I got here, my sobriety date is May 21st, 1987 and they'd opened

the room and they'd made coffee and they'd set chairs up and they'd spread out literature.

And those little things created a sense of welcome and that sense of welcome helped me

find a sense of belonging and that sense of belonging helped me find God and God saved

So to everybody that showed up at the business meeting that we had for the Bronx Big
