Good evening everybody, my name is Lorna and I'm an alcoholic and I'm thrilled at last

to be up here.

Anyway I want to thank you so much, I've had such a warm, warm welcome and I love, you

know, I'm not familiar with this room but I already love this room and the testament

is last night were very powerful and one can feel when one comes in here, the suffering

and the joy and the recovery that's in these four walls and it's very powerful and I'm

very grateful that you've asked me to come here and be your speaker this evening.

And before I forget my manners I want to also thank the committee for choosing me

and for Melissa for arranging this and for Melissa for giving Emily the task of being

my hostess this today.

We've had a great time, we have a huge age difference between us and yet she was a dear

friend for me and it's terrific.

We were discovering that when she was born I was already sober but it's like stunning,

you know, I was telling her that I remember being in a meeting once and this woman was

whining on and on about being 35 years old and Rosemar and her life was a man and some

fellow said, oh for God's sake shut up, he said I've got suits that are older than you.

So it was wonderful and we did have a grand day, you know, we went around, we shopped and
