Hi, my name is Janice and I am an alcoholic and that's who I am and what I am and where

I am is right here right now and I'm going to try and stay in the moment.

I've been talking to some other women out there.

The most important thing is just to tell the truth.

You know, I want to talk from my head, not from my heart because I get scared and fearful

and everything and that's not what I want to do because I've worked too hard to be where

I'm at today.

My sobriety date is October 16, 1985 and I'm truly grateful to be sober.

You know, it's an absolute miracle that we are sober sitting in this room tonight, safe

and sane and sober.

And you're going to hear, you'll probably hear some of the things Clancy says a little

bit.

I listened to a lot of old speaker tapes, poor boy rise, Marty Mann, the first woman in

AA.
