To those of you who have heard me, you're going to hear the same old story as the only one

To those of you who have never heard me, it has been my privilege to have been a member

of this grandest of all fellowships for a little over 23 years.

If that 23 years bothers some of those of you who are newer in the program, forget it because

the 23 years was built up 24 hours at a time.

Had anyone told me when I came into AA that I would have to stay sober for six months,

and I doubt if I would have made it.

When I mentioned the 24 hour program, that made sense.

So as I say, it's been built up 24 hours at a time.

Now, I'm not going to tell you too much about my drinking experiences because I believe

that all alcoholics drink to exist for the same reason.

That reason being that we lack the courage or the ability or in clean language a gut,

the face reality, responsibility in the everyday problems of life and we use alcohol as a way

out.

In believing that, I believe that we are all identically the same in so far as what goes on
