My name is Dan Witt, I'm a recovered alcohol addict.

Hello Dan.

Toby thank you for asking me Scott and it's not here so we want to thank him for asking

me to speak.

It is an honor and a privilege to be involved with alcoholics and on this.

It's not an privilege to get up here to do, to be of service, to share my experience

with you all.

My sobriety date is September 14th, 1989 and that's because I was dumb enough and desperate

enough to follow the directions.

I'm no different than anybody else in this room and they told me that you say your sobriety

date for one reason to show somebody that it works because all I have is today and that's

all that really counts.

I do not subscribe to the theory that whoever wakes up the earliest is the most sober because

if it was that easy I would wake up at 4.30, 3.30, 4 days a week and drink on three others

and the other one I don't know.

That's not what it's about.
