My name's Cindy, and I'm an alcoholic, and because of the grace of God and some simple

actions in this program, both sides of sponsorship, I've been sober since December the 17th, 1985,

and for that, I'm very grateful, and but I don't necessarily say that to brag, it gives

me bragging rights.

I've been sober longer than I drank, it's the biggest deal in my life.

Our non, the fact that I don't have to drink today, is the biggest deal in my life.

I need never forget that.

The reason I get to stay sober has as much to do with the grace of God as anything else,

because we haven't done this thing perfectly.

I've done what it talks about in the four words, I got here and I've really tried, and

because I've really tried, and I've stayed in the center of alcoholic synonymous, when

I've made mistakes, I've been able to learn from them instead of drinking them.

I've been able to walk through feeling ashamed of myself and of my behavior and not being

happy with who I am, and I've been able to do it right here and not drink at it, and

because I've been able to do that, guess what?

I didn't have to repeat the same mistake again, because see, when I drank, here's what

it looked like.
