Hi, everybody. My name's Carla, and I'm an alcoholic. And I'm really, really delighted to be

here with you guys this weekend. And I want to thank my friend Karen for the

invitation and it's good to see my friend Terry and thanks to Mark my partner yesterday morning.

I swear to God, we were having breakfast and, you know, Jack C's on the schedule to do the

Al-Anon portion and we were scheduled to do a workshop yesterday

morning, and I turned to Market Breakfast and said, so, you're going to be my partner instead,

and he says, br-what?

You know, and just did a wonderful job, and then I just loved your talk today, too.

Thank you.

And to be here with you all and to hear Terry last night, I haven't heard you in a long time,

and it's just good and I'm really looking forward to hearing Jerry tomorrow, so I hope everybody stays for that.

And thanks to my friends who did the workshops and thanks to the committee for all

your hard work these things don't put themselves together really really nice

well everywhere you go there's just it's's, you know, you feel at home.

And thank you, Margo, for picking me up at the airport and taking me tomorrow in advance and

just making sure everybody's okay. You know, it's nice. And I know what it feels like, too. I like,

I like having a job, you know. Jobs and Alcoholics Anonymous saved my life in the beginning especially. You know, they taught me that when I'm thinking about you, I'm not thinking about me for just a minute at least.

And for a few minutes, I get to experience the lack of the noise on the inside of my own head.

You know, I got to think about something else for a little while.
