thanks david for asking me to share and welcome to the people that are in the first 30 days

i was told that um you wish that i would hear something that would keep me coming back.

And what I heard in these rooms was you guys were saying things that had been in my head since I was a very little girl.

And I'd been trying to express those thoughts to people for a very long time.

And what they did, and I'm not sure they actually did this, was

they kind of backed away and looked a little scared because I would say, you know, when

you're thinking this and you want to kick a dog and kill your mother, you know, and they're

like, you know, and that kind of sharing really didn't go over very well with normal folk.

And it didn't go over well in the bars either, but in Alcoholics Anonymous, I heard people being very honest, and I identified with that.

And it was the first time in my life that I had identified with anything, quite honestly.

What I was told that from the podium, you share what it was like, what happened, and what it's like now.

And so what it was like, and hold on to your seats.

This is pretty exciting stuff.

I'm a boring alcoholic, kind of run-of-the-mill.

I don't have any great stories to tell.

But what I have is a pure alcoholic mind, and I learned that in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous.

When I was a very little girl, my earliest memories were of always feeling uncomfortable in my skin.

If somebody told me that I was a cute little girl, I knew that they were turning around and laughing.

Like, oh, my God, I can't believe she believed that.
