Because when I came into Alcoholics Anonymous

and I would hear the old timers get up and speak,

you know, I wanted to be an old timer right away.

At my very first meeting, I remember this lady had five years, and she was speaking and sharing

her experience and strength and hope, and she was coming up on her fifth year anniversary.

And that night, I was sitting there planning mine.
