and there's always somebody that's going to live longer

than you, you know, that it's going to remind you of that. And that story reminds me of the very

first AA meeting I ever went to. I was so embarrassed about being in Alcoholics Anonymous. I

introduced myself as an Allotine. And I had been an Alitaine for years because my father was a drunk and a damn good one.

And so therefore I felt real justified to do that.

And there's an old guy, and I mean a real crusty old fire hazard in Houston,

that'll never forget the fact that I introduced myself as an Allotene

at my very first AA meeting.

Now I want y'all to know that I was at that AA meeting in a pair of green paper pajamas.

And there was not any doubt in anybody's mind when I walked in that room, puking and spewing,

what I was there for. But I let them know real quick that

I was in Alpeteen. So thank you for my introduction. But I have had buttloads of fun here

in California this time. My name is Ann, and I'm an alcoholic.

And as is customary where I got sober, my sobriety date is January 27, 1974.

I just had an emotional wave hit my throat.

And for those of you that have never heard me speak, let me warn you, I'm known to be an

extensive crier from the podium.

I don't know why that is, and I'm having a hormone problem.
