I'm Angie, and I am an alcoholic.

I'd like to thank the committee for inviting me.

I'm not one bit nervous or scared or anything.

I just walk hand in hand with my higher power and climb the 12 golden steps to happiness,

and I never get nervous or scared anymore.

I also would like to mention Elle's name.

He told me to make sure I mention his name about 10 times, so I want to mention his name so that he can shut up.

I am really grateful to be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous because I belong here. Maybe not this big, but I belong here. I did get married. I'm really not pregnant. I just

looked that way. And I live in Blythe. That's about as close to hell as you can get without being there.

Some of us will go to any length to get a man.

And tonight I walk with the dignity of a sober woman alcoholic in the program of Alcoholics Anonymous. And I feel good and I belong here and I am not the same person

that walked into the rooms, smaller rooms than this,

but in meetings of Alcoholics Anonymous many, many years ago.

There seems to be a purpose and a meaning in my life today that I never had before. And it does

get better and better. And I've often wondered, it's so good how could it possibly get

better. And it came to me one day that the vessel keeps growing. And that's what's happened

to me because of this program. It isn't always easy for me to work this program because I like to do things my way.
