I'm Alistair, your host, and this week's story originally appeared on March 21, 2008, as episode 150.

It is the third stop on our year-long tour through some of the big

numbers that EP has hit during its 20-year-to-date voyage, and this time the story is written

by Jeremiah Talbot and was originally hosted and audio produced by Sarah Ely. Jeremiah is a web

designer and a writer living in Lawrence, Kansas with his wife and son.

He writes science fiction and fantasy. His work often places an emphasis on working class characters

and how genre elements impact their lives. And it is predominantly optimistic about science

and is often set in the Midwest generally and his home state of Kansas specifically. Jeremiah is also a

phenomenal editor and his tenure here at Escape Pod led to me discovering some of my all-time

favorite short stories. Your narrator this week is Sarah Ely. Sarah is a chaos spirit who first

appeared in 2013 from the right cerebral hemisphere of a former

podcaster named Steve Ely.

Best known as the founding editor and host of Escape Pod, with the famous sign-off, Have Fun,

Steve realized he was having more fun as Sarah and gave her the body for transition and

general mayhem.
