Flashback Friday, Rogue Farm by Charles Stross

Hi there, and welcome to Escape Pods Flashback Fridays.

I'm your host, Merr Lafferty.

Now, still back, as I tell you about the time, when there were no big podcast conventions,

and there was only Balticon.

Many early adopter podcasters, like Timoris, Paul Fisher, J.R. Blackwell, and Jetzea Axelrod,

lived somewhat nearby, and there were many of us willing to come a little bit farther for some podcaster camaraderie.

Roughly speaking, Balticon's 40 through 45 are a great deal of fun for the East Coast nerd podcasters and podcaster fans,

and people willing to travel a little bit further.

Littlecast Audio isn't something we usually do at Escape Pod.

Frankly, it's expensive and a pain to produce.

Sometimes we have enough problems finding one narrator, much less six.

But when you have an in-person gathering of many podcasters' fans and a science fiction author like Charlie Stross,

it can come together a bit easier.

The day we bring you Rogue Farm by Charlie Stross.

Charles Stross is a full-time science fiction writer and resident of Edinburgh, Scotland.

The author of six Hugo nominated novels in winner of the 2005, 2010, and 2014 Hugo Awards for Best Nevella.

He has won numerous other awards and been translated into at least 12 languages.
