published in Clarksworld magazine in April 2020. Sam Emsi Deku is a speculative fiction writer currently

living in the United States. He enjoys writing to explore the near future realities people of

South Asian ancestry and Muslim heritage will face in the coming centuries. His stories explore

issues of migration, gender, family structure, economics and space habitation. He's attended the

tin house and future scapes workshops and his stories have appeared in Clarksworld and Operation

Lit. Some of Sam Ems' favorite authors include Kurt Vonnegut, Octavia Butler, and Haruki Murugami.

When he's not writing, Sam Emsi enjoys reveling in fatherhood, watching 90's Star Trek and

tinkering with data and music. Your narrator this week is Arun Jua. Arun is a speculative fiction

writer with work in the travel cast, Easy Street magazine, and Tesseract's 19. He is a graduate

of viable paradise writing workshop and currently lives in Edmonton, Alberta. He's also an associate
