doing well out there. I'm just back ashore from a windy cruise up in the Arctic and the 59 North

Fleet is very, very far out in the Atlantic right now. Andy and Emma on Ice Bear, Sean and Liz on East Beyond.

Their passage from Annapolis to Antigua turns out to be a very long one. There has been a stable,

high pressure system sitting over Bermuda, offering them some really fine, clear weather, but

constant headwinds all the way.

Which is not all too bad really as Antigua requires a 14-day quarantine, but except sea time as quarantine.

So if they had had a really fast passage, they would have just had to wait on anchor before they could clear in down there.

They've had clear skies and the waning moon, meaning spectacular stargazing,

and they also got to see the Atlas 5 rocket launch from a thousand miles away this Friday, Friday the 13th.

Actually it lit up the sky in such a big way that they feared it was a nuclear bomb.

I'll quote here from the last of my correspondences that I just received from Andy today.

Due to the headwinds, we had to go farther east than ever before on this route to the Caribbean.

So far, in fact, we sailed right off

the passage chart. We finally got a chance on Sunday to make the turn south at 400 miles east-southeast

of Bermuda. This is truly no man's land in the Atlantic. There's normally no reason to be in this

As of this writing, we have 675 miles towards Antigua, having already sailed 1,386 miles.
