presence in your life. Here's a question for you. What passages in scripture most perplexes you?

A talking donkey? A man swallowed by a large fish? That Jesus sometimes hard to understand charges like

unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood, you have no life in you, or you must hate your

family. What did he mean when he said that? And why did God engage with Satan in a conversation

about Job? It almost seemed like he handed Job over to the enemy to destroy him. Why did he do that?

It's so important to understand context. It's also incredibly important to understand God's character.

So, I want to know, though, do you ever look

at certain stories and wonder why is that in the Bible? Well, my guest today writes this. Truth be

told, only God knows why he included everything in the book that he inspired using at least 40 different

authors over a period of 1,500 years. But we can safely come to conclusions on a great many things

as it shares with us the storyline that God's history of salvation for humankind to be completed

in his own sovereign time. Dr. Eric Bargerhuff joins me today to talk about his book,

why is that in the Bible? The most perplexing verses and stories and what they teach us.
