Welcome to The Treatment, the Home Edition. I'm Elvis Mitchell. You might think that bad trip might be the sequel to Rough Night. It is not.

It is the new film starring my guest, who I've been stalking for about five years now,

finally got him on the show. You may know him as the star of, what's this show called? Oh, yes,

the Eric Andre Show on Adult Swim. Eric, thanks so much for doing this.

Thank you for having me. Here's the thing I've always wanted to ask you.

Whereas you're writing and conceiving stuff, are you listening to music?

Yes, sometimes.

If I'm writing with the group, no.

If it's in the writer's room or the producer's meeting, no.

But if I'm writing by myself with my morning coffee at coffee shop, yes, I'm blasting music into my eardrums.

Yeah, because I've always wondered about that, because there's part of this that

whenever you're in character or doing one of these pieces on the show or in the movie,

there's that almost kind of fugue state that somebody gets into when there's a particular

piece of music that's firing off and getting the pheromones going in and and it changes kind of your mental state and part of me

you've always thought you want to do what the music is doing to you to other people yeah i went to

music school so i studied music so i come from the music backgrounds of my the earliest days of my

comedy were very music inspired.

And what way to talk about that?

Because that does fascinate me.

I went to a jazz school.

I went to Berkeley College of Music.
