Turkey's electoral authorities have declared Rechip type Erdogan the winner of the

presidential election runoff, ensuring him another five years in office.

They say Mr Erdogan was a clear winner, coming six percentage points ahead of his

challenger, Kamal Khalic Darolou, who complained to the poll was unfair.

Addressing jubilant supporters in Ankara, Mr Erdogan promised to build a strong economy

and called for unity. In two decades, as Prime Minister and President, Mr Erdogan has moved

Turkey in an increasingly Islamist direction, cracked down on dissent, and frequently

scorned his NATO allies, while a garing report from Ankara.
