Like dollar bills, securities are a tradeable financial asset. And like dollar bills, ultimately, when it comes right down to it, securities are just words on paper. The founders of Equibit realized what had been done for the dollar could be done for securities. They realized that there was a better, safer, faster Blockchain application.
Chris Horlacher of Equibit explains. “We use the BitCoin codebase, and we made a number of modifications and upgrades and enhancements to it, to make it suitable to operate a securities marketplace on.” They've created an open, global system that can be used according to any compliance regime.
