The battle over redactions in the Jeffrey Epstein files is heating up.

The Justice Department unredacted more names in the Epstein files last night after pressure

from lawmakers who reviewed unredacted versions of several records.

Congressman Thomas Massey of Kentucky is one of the lawmakers who was pressuring the Justice Department.

What I saw that bothered me were the names of at least six men that have been redacted

that are likely incriminated by their inclusion in these files.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche actually replied to Massey on Twitter,

and he said that the Justice Department is hiding nothing.

CNN is reaching out to those mentioned in Blanche's exchanges with Massey.

The Justice Department has not explained why redactions appear inconsistent

or why no one beyond Epstein was ever charged aside from saying

there was insufficient evidence to prosecute others. Meanwhile, democratic lawmakers alongside the family

of the late Epstein survivor of Virginia Drew Frey are set to introduce Virginia's law later today.

This is a piece of legislation that aims to eliminate the statute of limitation that advocates

say has protected traffickers

and denied survivors their day in court.
