Hi and hello, podcasters.

0:29.2

It's your old, old pal.

0:30.7

Dave Damashek here.

0:32.2

Whatever could you mean by that?

0:33.8

David Feeney over there.

0:36.1

Yeah, listen, I'm old now officially.

0:39.7

I'm 40 years of age. The sweet release of death is on its way. Today you are. Your 40th birthday is today, yes? Yes, right. Yes. Congratulations.

0:45.5

Happy birthday, buddy. Listen, congratulations. How do you feel? Do you feel old? You feel young?

0:49.5

I don't know. I'm oddly sort of not very philosophical about the whole thing. I don't know. Shouldn't I be reflecting on my 40 years on this earth? I think we can get to that. But first, think about it. You're in the golf course of life, you are on the back nine. And now people say you are middle-aged. You are middle-aged. How does that feel? but you're, you know, all right, with plenty of time.

1:34.7

All right.

1:34.8

Let's get a couple of buckets here and we're right back in this thing.

1:37.8

But when there are maybe five or six minutes left in the fourth quarter, suddenly those times,

1:43.4

those each trip down the floor becomes more precious, you know? Sure. My old man always is, you know, I always lament when my parents come to town or when I'm in Pittsburgh, PA with them. He always is, he, he, he, you lament when they come into town? No, no, I, I, when it's time to decide where we're going to eat, it's always, it just drives me crazy because it takes them three hours. We have to discuss, well, wait, what about that? Barbecue, I don't know, barbecue. What do they have? Can I see their menu first? And then even when you're in the restaurant, it takes him forever to make an order, to make a simple order. He has to talk to the waiter, a complete stranger, about what's better?

2:20.4

Are the sausage links good, or should I get the baby back?

2:23.7

Should I get the beef ribs or should I get the St. Louis style?

2:26.6

All that deliberating, that obsession about that.
