What's the appropriate amount of friends to have at our various ages?

I think 10 is good. Really? That seems exhausted. That seems like a lot. I'm not talking about best friends, but just people that like, yeah, I check in on them once a month, say what's up, hang out with them, grab a beer, grab lunch. That's a lot of acquaintances. Once a month, 10, that's 10 lunches a month you're having. No, I mean, you're not doing lunch with all of them.

Sometimes in groups.

If you have 16 groomsmen, you just can't make decisions.

You know the problem is when you have like 16 groomsmen but 18 friends.

That's when it's really like tricky territory. It's like, oh man.

So I have too many and the

people that I leave out are really going to feel like crap because I'm not leaving out that many, but the ones that I too is bad. If you have that many friends, that's when you go really small. You're like, I'm only going to pick like three people because you know you're not that close with all 18. I had, I think, six groomsmen, five groomsmen, and I had a friend who told me years later in a joking manner, but he's clearly not joking that he was expecting, like, he's like, oh, this guy's in there, why am I not in there kind of thing? Did you get them groomsman gifts? I did. What'd you get them? Nothing great. I think I got like, like, Yeti cups with, like, their name on it. And, like, it was, like, each of their favorite baseball team, just like a cup. I, uh, I think I've told this story, but I don't think I've told this story to Jess. I got what I thought was, like, a really cool gift, but also but also in retrospect very impractical considering

that the majority of my groomsmen and I think almost all my groomsmen were from out of town

so they like flew in for it and then they flew back what I got them were engraved hatchets
