Gary, it sounds like a dreadful funeral pyre.

I think a funeral pyre is an apt description, Brian,

those working at the scene of the Branch Divideon compound are facing a grim and dangerous responsibility

this morning. They report finding charred bodies of both adults and children lying all over the 77

acre compound. Is there something else we should have known? Is there

some other question they should have asked? Is there some other question I should have asked?

Can I say for sure that no one, that we could have done nothing else to make the outcome come

different? I don't know that. The FBI clearly miscalculated. They thought Koresh's threats of mass suicide was a bluff.

At news conferences today they insisted.

He had 51 days to release those children. He chose those children to die.

We didn't have anything to do with their deaths.

The conduct of the FBI, the local FBI was extremely hard to defend.

But this kind of cult, I mean, it's almost a death cult, actually.

And, you know, that is sadly where it ended up.

And so you might have thought with the last episode, and fair enough if you did, well, that was the fire, Waco's over, that is where it ends up. Case closed. Well, wrong. What do you think those British families that we've got to know so well have been doing all this time?

Well, when the initial media circus left town, they would fight to get answers in amongst all of this chaos.

And a few dedicated people would fight their corner.

And this episode is about two of those people. One principal, tough, the best of
