| 0:00.0 | Hello and welcome to the American History Podcast, episode zero introduction. |
| 0:08.4 | Welcome to the American History podcast. |
| 0:15.2 | Hosted by Sean Worswick. |
| 0:31.5 | Yeah. My name is Sean Worswick, your host for this podcast, which will explore the history of the United States. |
| 0:38.8 | Now, this first episode, it's my goal to simply lay the foundation for the podcasts, which will follow, and to answer two simple questions. What is this and why am I doing it? Well, this is a podcast about the history |
| 0:44.9 | of the United States, starting before the political entity known as the United States existed. |
| 0:50.3 | We will cover many of the familiar topics of American history, but also many things which perhaps are not so well known. |

| 1:41.9 | I can also go at my own pace. |
| 1:43.9 | Furthermore, as a professional |
| 1:44.9 | historian and teacher, I despise how oftentimes the mainstream culture, and even some of my |
| 1:49.9 | own professionals, caricature people and events, boiling them down into almost a cartoon version |
| 1:55.6 | of history. In general, I love podcasts, and I've been inspired by both podcasters in general and history |
| 2:02.1 | podcasters specifically. |
| 2:04.3 | First, I need to thank Tom Woods. |
