Part 4. The White Lands of Empathica, Dandelow.

Chapter 1. The Thing Under the Castle.

While in Richard Sayer's office, they discover two paintings by Patrick Danville, the character first introduced to us as a child in the pages of insomnia.

One painting is of Mordred, complete with the birthmark and the scar along the side of his body where Susanna had shot off his leg, and the other is of the dark tower in the field of roses.

Later, Susanna has a dream where she's with Eddie and Jake in New York at Christmas time.

It's here where she renounces the tower, instead stating that she'd rather be here with the two of them.

This, of course, is what happens to her, and I wonder it's because she chooses life in this dream rather

than death in reality. The remaining three members of the Khatet head under Fedik to find the

right door, and it's as if King remembers that he made a few bucks here and there as a horror

writer and turns this segment into a horror story in which a monstrous
