But like going back to your childhood, how was it for you growing up in Oakland, California, your West Coast baby?

Yeah.

So how was it growing up in Oakland?

It was cool.

I mean, Oakland is so different that I say it all the time.

I didn't realize how different it was until I got older and started traveling and touring and seeing how different the world is or even the country is

from you know how I grew up right um I've been making music since a very young age I've been doing

it since I was like 12 13 professionally around like 14 um and it's just been a really long journey

it's just been like the longest journey and again it's like yeah it's peaked a lot of times. And it's, you know, I've had my highs. I've had my lows. And so to kind of be arriving at this moment right now is really, really cool. Because it feels a bit like 10,000 hours-ish. It feels a bit like, oh, okay, like I have the reins. I know what I'm doing right now. So it's cool.

It's really cool.

Growing up, did you know you always wanted to be in the music industry? I know you danced, but, like, did you know that you were, like, going to be in the music industry? I had no idea. I sang because I couldn't dance anymore. I got an injury. Oh, really? Yeah, I injured my knee.

Were you playing basketball?

No.
