Hey guys, what's happening?

Coming in hot here before the show starts, because I received some information that I would

have talked about in the show, but the show has already put to bed.

So here we are doing it now as a bit of a preamble.

I'll give you a little backstory here.

In 1993, when I moved back from Los Angeles to Chicago and I was starting to do stand-up

comedy in earnest.

I wanted to do road work, you know, all through the Midwest.

But in Chicago, I worked mainly at the funny bone in Naperville because one time I went in there to showcase.

And the guy managing it at the time was a guy named Bert Borth.

And he, for some reason, dug me and he said, you want to MC?

And he gave me you want to MC?

And he gave me, like, all the MC date.

So when I wasn't on the road traveling, Bert was having me there at the club, and it really helped me grow as a performer.

And it gave me kind of this whole new family.

I mean, I had just moved to town, and I wound up hanging out at the club, and I wound up

hanging out with Bert, and I wanted up hanging out with Bert's wife, Janet.

And then his daughters were super young at the time. And my friend Catherine worked in the box office. Mike and Robert worked. I just, I got along with all the bartenders. I got along with the staff. It was really just a great time in my life.

And I became great friends with Bert and Janet.

Spent holidays with them, would see them then.

And also there was this very special time when you're a comedian.

You have the same thing.
