In today's study, Chuck begins his teaching on the book of Mark, chapter 4.

The Whenever. Whenever we enter the Word of God, we want to do it with prayer, don't we? So let's

bow our hearts. Father, we thank you for this time. We thank you for your word. We pray, Father, that you would open our hearts

and lives to your word, that we might be more pleasing in your sight, that we might grow in

grace in the knowledge of our king and whose name we dedicate this hour and ourselves, the name of

Yeshua. Amen. Well, we are in the Gospel of Mark, and we are in chapter four. This chapter presents

a number of responsibilities for our people, highlights four particularly. Sowing, shining,

reaping, and trusting. And that's the way this one way you could segment this chapter. And so let's just

jump right in. Sowing. Verse one, and he, Jesus, began to teach by the seaside. And there was

gathered unto him a great multitude so that he entered into a ship and sat in the sea, and the whole

multitude was by the sea on the land.

I think you get the picture. The idea was to use the separation of a boat from the water

to give him a little protection from the press of the crowds.

Visualized a very large crowd on the beach, and he's just offshore teaching from the ship.
