Summary

Daniel had the most incredible career imaginable; he was transported as a teenage captive to a pagan empire and became the primary confidante to the ruler of Babylon. When Babylonia was taken over by its enemies, he rose to the second or third position in the Persian Empire. There are only two people in the Bible other than Jesus Christ of which no evil is spoken, Joseph and Daniel. The book of Daniel is in two halves: the first six chapters are historical, which deal with the adventures and career of this remarkable man. The second six chapters are some of the most pivotal and important prophecies of the entire Bible. Without a clear understanding of the book of Daniel you will not understand the times in which we live. This study contains 16 hours of verse by verse teachings. 0:55.0	it's a very well-known story to you, and yet at the same time, looking at it carefully may reveal some nuances that hopefully will be constructive. But we'll also

1:16.7	of Daniel. And first thing I might mention there is some ambiguity about Darius the Mead.
1:23.0	He comes up several times. And Darius may be an honorable title. It may mean simply the holder
1:30.0	of the scepter. It is used of five later Persian rulers. And there are at least four
1:36.8	conjectures as to who Darius is as referred to in chapter five, in part, and also in this

1:45.1	Some scholars feel that it's actually an allusion to Cyrus, the top guy himself.
1:51.5	Donald Weissman, the British Museum, published that view.
1:55.2	Others feel as the son of Cyrus, Canvas is the son of Cyrus.
1:58.5	And there are reputable authors that hold that view.
2:02.2	But it is very clear also that Darius is an appointed guy.
