0:32.6	In today's study, Dr. Missler begins his session entitled The Gospels.
0:44.6	We are an hour 15 of learning the Bible 24 hours in which we're going to address the
0:50.9	Gospels. Obviously, we've finished Unit 1 in the Old Testament.
0:55.0	We've had an introduction into the New Testament, but now we're jumping right in, and we're
1:00.0	going to attempt in this hour to summarize the Gospels.
1:04.0	That's in itself an ambitious task, but that's what we're up to.
1:09.0	The question is, we speak of the canon. That's from the Greek
1:13.7	word meaning rule or basis. The canon, the Bible. Is it complete? The Old Testament ended with
1:21.4	unexplained ceremonies, all those sacrifices we went through. It also closes with unachieved purposes, the covenants and so on.
1:33.3	We have in the Old Testament unappeased longings, and of course we have unfulfilled prophecies.
1:40.3	So the Old Testament by itself, the Tanakh, as our Jewish friends would call it,
1:46.0	is incomplete in the sense that it leaves you dangling. It's incomplete. What completes it?
1:51.9	Jesus gave us the key. In John 5, verse 39, he says, Jesus himself said, search the scriptures.
