In today's study, Chuck continues his teaching on the book of Isaiah, chapter 60 through 62.

Yeah. chapter 60 through 62. Now what Jesus then does is he closes the book and gave it again to the minister and sat down

in the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him and he began to say unto them, this day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears?

That's a mouthful. He is claiming to be the fulfillment of that prophecy in Isaiah, chapter

61.

I'm always fascinated by these screwball groups

that say, well, Christ never claimed to be God.

They didn't read John 8, and they didn't read most of

John.

Jesus here is claiming to be

the fulfillment of Isaiah 61.

He said so,

formally, in the synagogue. This day is this scripture fulfilled

in your ears. Let's pause for a minute. I want to come back to this, so hold your place here,

but let's turn to Isaiah chapter 61. And let's read

the passage that Jesus was reading from in effect. Now make some allowance here. It's here

for translations. It's almost the same. There's a few subtle differences. Nothing that material.
