Summary

Isaiah was the most comprehensive of all prophets: his writing spans the entirety of history, from the creation of the world to the creation of “a new heavens and new earth.” No other prophet matches his majestic eloquence on the glory of God and the redemptive work and sufferings of the Coming Messiah, all the while making us clearly aware of God’s abounding Grace. This study contains approximately 24 hours of verse by verse teachings. Copyright © 1996

with that. And if we have time at the end, I'll review that for you. But so we keep moving.

1:38.5

What I'd like to tonight is address chapter 36, I believe we'll get through chapter 39 tonight.

1:46.0

These are four chapters that constitute sort of a parenthetical, historical insert. Because 35, Isaiah relieved the pressure of the

previous chapters by focusing on the kingdom blessings, and that's great. But chapter 36 is going to shift gears.

2:02.1

He's going to talk historically for four chapters. It's a narrative. In fact, it's the parallel

many scholars believe they were written in second kings by Isaiah that would not be surprising
