Summary

Isaiah was the most comprehensive of all prophets: his writing spans the entirety of history, from the creation of the world to the creation of “a new heavens and new earth.” No other prophet matches his majestic eloquence on the glory of God and the redemptive work and sufferings of the Coming Messiah, all the while making us clearly aware of God’s abounding Grace. This study contains approximately 24 hours of verse by verse teachings. Copyright © 1996

1:22.0

style a lot of judgments of nations and and what i sometimes call a dirge with little nuggets thrown in indeed, but still

1:29.8

it's heavy stuff. Then there's a four-chapter interlude that is historical, 36 through 39.

1:35.1

Same material as in Second Kings. In fact, people believe this passage in Second Kings was written

by Isaiah. But now we hit chapter 40, we're at a turning point, change of style. Very, very

1:48.3

messianic, increasingly so. orchestrated like a symphony, a little hint of a theme.

1:55.1

And then a little later, it surfaces again a little louder and then louder, and it's coming.

1:59.2

The crescendo is going to be Chapter 53, and we'll

2:04.8

probably hit that next week. It'll be a suitable climax. We'll need a break after Chapter 53.
