In today's study, Chuck begins his teaching on the book of Isaiah, chapters 40 through 43.

Yeah. 40 through 43. We are in Isaiah 40, right?

And this in many respects, of course, as I think I have highlighted in the past, is a

turning point for us, so to speak, because Isaiah

changes his style dramatically at Chapter 40. The style change is so conspicuous that that gives rise

to all these bizarre conjectures, that there are really two Isaiah's and all of that. Isaiah can be divided into

three sections, the first 35 chapters, which have a certain style, then the four-chapter interlude,

which is a little historical insert, and then chapter 40 to the end. But many scholars,

you know, I think they create these things to pass their PhD thesis or something,

but they create this idea that, well, gee, there are really two Isaiah's. And that, of course,

is nonsense. And I mentioned this before, but I just, at the possibility we have some new people,

let me put to bed this nonsense. There's nonsense of this kind spread around the books of Moses, who really wrote them.

Moses did. How do I know that? Because Jesus told me that.

You see quotes from each book and ascribe it to Moses. So the documentary hypothesis, as it's

sometimes called, is a bunch of nonsense. There's the same kind of ideas that float around about Isaiah,

that Isaiah was really two, you know, Isaiah 1 and Isaiah 2.

That's utter rubbish.
