Summary

Daniel had the most incredible career imaginable; he was transported as a teenage captive to a pagan empire and became the primary confidante to the ruler of Babylon. When Babylonia was taken over by its enemies, he rose to the second or third position in the Persian Empire. There are only two people in the Bible other than Jesus Christ of which no evil is spoken, Joseph and Daniel. The book of Daniel is in two halves: the first six chapters are historical, which deal with the adventures and career of this remarkable man. The second six chapters are some of the most pivotal and important prophecies of the entire Bible. Without a clear understanding of the book of Daniel you will not understand the times in which we live. This study contains 16 hours of verse by verse teachings. 0:48.2	Nebuchadnezzar's affidavit. You'll discover when you study chapter four, it is an affidavit by a Gentile king.

1:02.5	And so that's where we are.
1:06.3	Just to refresh your memory, Daniels divide in two halves.
1:15.5	There's six chapters in the front that are historical, they're narratives, story-like. And the last six are visions.
1:18.0	And we'll deal with those, of course, when we get there.
1:20.4	But chapter one, Daniel is a teenager deported when Babylon took over Israel.
1:27.4	And he's deported as a teenager, one of the promising
1:29.0	young men of royal lineage. And his three buddies are the focus of the whole book, but they
1:35.0	were taken to be in the graduate school to serve at court before the king, very promising young
1:40.8	men. And that first chapter is very important to get a feeling of the character of these interesting

1:47.8	But this young king, Nebuchadnezzar who was general and succeeded in making the Babylonian
1:53.9	presence the dominant factor in that region, especially by defeating the Faronecoe
1:58.5	at Battle of Karshimish, lay seats to Jerusalem, but also discovers his father's died.
