and whoso curses father and mother, let him die to death.

But ye say, if a man shall say to his father or mother, it is Corban, that is to say,

a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me, he shall be free.

What is referring to is an unusual practice.

They were supposed to take care of their mother and father.

But if they took their goods and said, that's set aside for the Lord, that would exempt

them.

Corban, you know, that was a, they used it as an escape from their obligations to their

own mother and father.

That's what he's alluding to here.

You say, if he's mentioned, say to his father, it is Corban. This little treasure I've got is Corban.

In other words, it's a gift for God, set aside for him. He's using the reason to

excuse to not take care of their mother and father. And Jesus referring to the law in Exodus
