Summary

Daniel had the most incredible career imaginable; he was transported as a teenage captive to a pagan empire and became the primary confidante to the ruler of Babylon. When Babylonia was taken over by its enemies, he rose to the second or third position in the Persian Empire. There are only two people in the Bible other than Jesus Christ of which no evil is spoken, Joseph and Daniel. The book of Daniel is in two halves: the first six chapters are historical, which deal with the adventures and career of this remarkable man. The second six chapters are some of the most pivotal and important prophecies of the entire Bible. Without a clear understanding of the book of Daniel you will not understand the times in which we live. This study contains 16 hours of verse by verse teachings. 0:50.5	Now, this period, but right at the end there, the 70th week, consists of two halves,
0:55.9	three and a half years in the two, each half. Let's take a look now at the climactic verse of the 70-week prophecy.
1:02.6	And he shall enforce the covenant and the he is a pronoun.
1:06.6	Who is the identity of he?
1:08.2	Very simple grammar.
1:09.7	What's the antecedent?
1:11.3	The previous He was the Prince that shall come.
1:14.8	Some people try to make this the Messiah, and they come up with a concept that doesn't
1:19.0	actually fit the text, creates other problems.
1:21.7	This is not the Messiah.
1:22.9	The Prince that shall come shall enforce the covenant with the many.
1:26.7	That's his praise for Israel, for one week.
1:28.8	This is that final week. This is the 70th week of Daniel. And in the midst of the week,
1:33.7	he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease. And for the overspreading of abominations,
1:40.3	he shall make it desolate, even till the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.
1:48.4	So what on earth is all this about? First of all, understand the he, the prince that shall come, is the bad guy, the coming prince.
