0:29.5	In today's study, Chuck begins his teaching on the book of Jude, verses 7 and 8.
0:44.6	Music Versus 7 and 8. Tonight we are in Jude, verse 7, where Jude continues drawing upon three Old Testament examples of apostasy. Jude is an epistle for our time.
1:00.4	He deals with end-time apostasy. Apostasy in general, but very specifically we'll discover
1:05.5	it's focusing very much on the end-tides. It's very appropriate for it to be a preface or prelude or what
1:12.1	have you to the book of Revelation. And so he has drawn three examples of corporate punishment.
1:20.6	Israel in verse 5, the angels that sinned, verse 6, and 7 is Sodom and Gomorrah.
1:29.8	These are three references that Jude makes.
1:32.4	He presumes that his readers are quite acquainted with this background.
1:36.7	And obviously, all of you are well acquainted with this background,
1:39.8	but for some of them that might have joined us,
1:41.9	who is not, we'll review that, okay?
1:44.0	But, so we'll use us an excuse to review. Sodom and Gomorrah, idioms in our language,
1:52.1	we speak of Sodom and Gamora very glibly. And Jude does too, verse seven, he says,
1:57.1	even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves
2:03.2	over to fornication and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering
2:10.3	the vengeance of eternal fire.
2:13.7	Well, that seems straightforward enough.
